President of Kazakhstan awarded jubilee medal of Turkmenistan in honor of 300th anniversary of Magtymguly

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived in Ashgabat today on an official visit, was awarded the jubilee medal “Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna” in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly.

The medal was presented to the head of Kazakhstan by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the opening ceremony of the monument to the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev in Ashgabat. This was reported by the IIC.

In his congratulatory speech, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced the decision of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to award the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan “Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna” to the head of the

Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and presented the award in a solemn ceremony.

After which, to the loud cries of the participants of the cultural event “Long live the Turkmen-Kazakh friendship!”, flowers were laid at the monument to Abai Kunanbayev, the source notes.

Earlier we reported that a monument to the Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev was opened in Ashgabat.
