President of Iran to Visit Ashgabat

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced preparations for an upcoming visit by President Ebrahim Raisi to Ashgabat during a press conference held on Thursday following his visit to Turkmenistan, the Nournews reported on Thursday.

Speaking about the achievements during his visit to Ashgabat, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian noted that there would be a significant increase in trade volumes between Iran and Turkmenistan in the coming weeks.

The diplomat also stated that the parties reviewed the progress of implementing the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries during a meeting held in Tehran.

According to Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the meetings, the parties exchanged views on mutual cooperation in various areas such as energy, transit, transport, science, and technology.

Furthermore, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian mentioned that Turkmenistan and Iran are currently cooperating in the fields of electricity and gas and intend to expand cooperation in the future.

During his visit to Ashgabat, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held meetings with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the national leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov.
