President Berdymukhammedov reprimands two Deputy Prime Ministers

The state information agency TDH reports that on 5 July the extended Cabinet session to review the performance for the first six months was held by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.

In the course of the session the head of the state issued reprimands to two Deputy Chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Gochmyrad Myradov, overseeing economy and finance, gave a progress report on sustainable growth in all areas in increased standard of living.However, despite the success stories which had been presented during the meeting, the President issued severe reprimands to Myradov and Minister of Finance and Economy Batyr Bazarov “for undue performance of job-related responsibilities”.

Berdymukhammedov demanded that meticulous efforts be undertaken to transform the country into an industrially developed country, modernize and diversify the economy, facilitate the development of e-manufacturing and create new jobs.

Moreover, the President announced that measures need to be undertaken to attract investment and increase the volume of exports.

Bakhargul Abdyeva, Deputy Prime Minister overseeing culture and mass gave a progress report devoted to celebrations of various events and festivities as well as the performance of the news outlets, covering the country’s accomplishments in various areas and explained the reforms, which had been carried out, to the audience.

The report did not impress the head of the state and Abdyeva was reprimanded for “the weakening of control over adequately utilizing the cultural infrastructure and the facilities”.

With a view of promoting spiritual values among the Turkmen people, the President charged the female official with the task of utilizing the potential of the satellite, library, theatres and museums.

Berdymukhammedov called for designing newsworthy television programming and organizing theatre production and musical performances in the run-up to the forthcoming public holidays, including the Day of Independence, the Day of Neutrality and the New Year’s Eve celebration.
