At the Cabinet session held on 27 April Deputy Prime Minister Gochmyrat Myradov made a progress report on the work implemented pursuant to the draft agreement on building the high speed motorway Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi.
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov emphasized “the importance of carrying out the construction works to build a high quality high speed motorway Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi in a timely manner”.
“With a view of implementing the project the relevant measures are being undertaken”, Myradov reported.
Let us recall that “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” learned in February that Turkey-based company Polymex, which built the motorway in Turkmenbashi pursuant to the contract concluded with the Turkmen government, curtailed the construction works and the company’s CEO left Turkmenistan.
As “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” managed to find out that the CEO of Turkey-based company Erol Tabanсa was proposed to build the road at the company’s expense and then cover the costs from the revenue the motorway will generate in the future.
