On 18 September President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov presented two Turkmen crews competing in “Amul-Khazar” car rally with passenger cars.
Racing driver Hojaguly Annamammedov, who finished third in the vehicle with number 100, was presented with Mercedes-Benz E200 Coupe whereas co-pilot Gaigysyz Akmyradov was awarded with a Toyota Avalon.
Racer Guvanchmyrad Hommadov and navigator Rejepniyaz Annaberdiyev, who had also won bronze, were presented with Toyota Camry vehicles.
Moreover, the head of the state awarded a group of athletes and specialists with commemorative badges.
The state information agency TDH reports that “the President announced his decision to hand over the sport vehicle with number 100 he had piloted at the initial stage of the car rally, to the Motorsport Centre of Turkmenistan’s Interior Ministry.
The head of the state also handed over the award from Africa Eco Race, presented by Jean-Louis Schlesser, Director General of the car rally, to the museum of Turkmen sports as well as the sports outfit he had been wearing during the rally.
