Preparations for the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS Countries were discussed in Ashgabat

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Sergei Lebedev to discuss preparations for the upcoming high-level meeting within the CIS in Ashgabat. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

During the negotiations, the parties considered organizational issues of holding the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states, scheduled for May 24, 2024 in the Turkmen capital.

The importance of effective interaction within the CIS was also emphasized. The interlocutors checked the schedule of joint events and discussed the agenda of upcoming summit and high-level meetings this year under the auspices of the Commonwealth.

CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev noted the importance of Turkmenistan’s active participation in the CIS to strengthen ties between the participating states. He emphasized that the development of mutually beneficial relations with Turkmenistan remains one of the priorities of the Commonwealth.
