Powerful landslides in India claim more than 140 lives

The rescue operation is complicated by the inaccessibility of the affected areas and the difficult terrain. Local residents, professional rescuers, military personnel and dog handlers with service dogs are involved in the search and rescue operations. Air force aircraft have been brought in to expand the search area.
