Turkmenistan completed the population and housing census, which was in the country from December 17 to 27, 2022. Its motto was “Population Census 2022 - Cohesion, Happiness, Bright Future”, and the emblem was the white yurt Türkmeniň ak öýi - a symbol of preserving traditions and original historical and cultural heritage.
In accordance with the decision of the Government, this time the census was carried out entirely using digital technologies.
In the process of preparing and conducting the census, Turkmenistan fruitfully cooperated with the UN, UNFPA, and other international organizations.
As UNFPA noted, the information provided by citizens will be used by the State Committee on Statistics only for statistical purposes.
The received data on the tablets will be encrypted, and after processing will be presented in a generalized form to line ministries, leaders, scientific and business communities and others.
