Polluted water worsens devastating floods in Valencia, Spain

In the Spanish city of Chiva, an outbreak of diseases among local residents was recorded due to drinking water from a contaminated pump that was working after the flood, MIR 24 reports.

The situation in the Valencia region remains critical after the devastating storm “Dana”. Rescue work continues: volunteers and special services are searching for missing people and clearing rubble. According to the latest data from local authorities, the death toll has reached 217 people, the fate of another 89 people remains unknown.

The natural disaster that hit Spain on October 29 affected mainly the southern and eastern regions of the country. In these areas, the maximum level of meteorological danger was declared due to unprecedented rainfall intensity.
