Pinocchio Tops Disney's Best Cartoons

IndieWire has presented a rating of Disney's animated masterpieces. The top spot went to the 1940 cartoon Pinocchio, whose musical theme traditionally sounds at the beginning of each animated project of the studio, reports snob.ru.

Experts emphasize the revolutionary nature of the film, which demonstrated the colossal potential of animation art. In their opinion, Pinocchio is comparable to grandiose fantasy works due to its incredible scale and depth of narrative.

Following the leader is the touching 1941 cartoon Dumbo, which tells the story of childhood, parents and accepting one's own imperfections. The top three is rounded out by Sleeping Beauty, a film with a unique visual stylization. Notably, this cartoon was the first to be created using the widescreen technology Super Technirama 70.

The top ten also included such iconic works as Beauty and the Beast (1991), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Lilo & Stitch (2002), One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), The Little Mermaid (1989), Bambi (1942) and Fantasia (1940). The rating included a total of 63 cartoons.
