The Oil & Gas of Turkmenistan (OGT) 2021 International Investment Forum is set to take place from 12 13 May 2021 in Ashgabat, in conjunction with Turkmenistan’s 30th anniversary of Independence.

The OGT 2021 International Investment Forum is organized by the State Concerns “Turkmengaz” and “Turkmennebit”, State Corporation “Turkmengeology”, as well as the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan in partnership with Turkmen Forum.

The Organizing Committee is proud to announce that PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd. (PC(T)SB), a subsidiary of PETRONAS is a Bronze Sponsor of the Forum.

The event will bring together leading international experts and global players in the gas market for knowledge transfer while developing and strengthening international partnerships among Turkmen state organisations and international oil & gas companies.

The event will feature discussions on global and regional trends in the development of the fuel and energy sector as well as the implementation of regional projects in this area. There will be also special topics on attracting investment into the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and prospects for gas chemical projects.

PC(T)SB began its operations in the hydrocarbon sector more than two decades ago upon signing of the Production Sharing Contract relating to Block 1, Contract Area, Offshore Turkmenistan.

With the start of commercial crude oil production in 2009 from Diyarbekir field and natural gas production in 2011 from Magtymguly field, PC(T)SB has established itself as one of the largest oil and gas producer and supplier of natural gas in Turkmenistan.

In line with PETRONAS’ commitment to contribute to the communities where it operates, PC(T)SB places great importance on education, talent development and capability building. Through the PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Programme, to-date, the company has sponsored 162 students from Turkmenistan. Currently, 640 staff employed at PC(T)SB are host country nationals.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in 2013 between Turkmenistan’s International Oil and Gas University and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), a leading private university in Malaysia and wholly-owned by PETRONAS. This MoU is aimed to establish an exchange of experience in educational and research activities in the oil and gas sector.
