Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN in Geneva met with the head of UNRCCA

The first meeting of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kakha Imnadze with the permanent representatives of the countries of the Central Asian region at the UN Office in Geneva was held in Geneva, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.

Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Switzerland, the country's permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, Vepa Hajiyev.

During the meeting, the parties noted the timeliness and importance of establishing political and diplomatic contacts between UNRCCA and the UN Geneva site. As the participants emphasized, this will help increase the potential of the Regional Center in implementing the international agenda in Central Asia.

Kakha Imnadze informed the heads of diplomatic missions of the countries of the region about the key areas of work of the structure he heads in Ashgabat. These include strengthening regional stability and security, countering terrorism and violent extremism, managing transboundary water resources, working with youth and promoting gender equality.
