The possibilities of creating the first National Natural Park named after Magtymguly Fragi were discussed by the participants of the regular “Rustamov Readings” dedicated to the memory of the outstanding researcher, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Anver Keyushevich Rustamov.
The meeting, which took place in the meeting room of the scientific council of the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna, brought together well-known environmental scientists and conservation practitioners of Turkmenistan.
The idea of the first National Natural Park named after Magtymguly Fragi stems from the project “Strengthening the management efficiency of the system of specially protected natural areas of Turkmenistan”, which was funded by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by UNDP in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Syunt-Khasardag State Nature Reserve.
At the meeting, scientific reports by Sh. Karryeva and P. Kepbanov, as well as speeches by E. Rustamov and J. Annacharyeva were listened to and discussed, the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.
