Parliament of Georgia ratified the agreement on air communication with Turkmenistan

Deputies of the Parliament of Georgia ratified the agreement between the governments of Georgia and Turkmenistan on air traffic, reports Sputnik.

The agreement is aimed at creating a bilateral legal framework for the implementation of international air traffic between Georgia and Turkmenistan.

The ratified agreement entered into force. According to the document, Georgia and Turkmenistan received the right to carry out flights through each other's airspace, as well as to land and take on board and unload both passengers and cargo on the territory of the agreement country.

The air carriers of the two countries get the right to open their offices in the country of the agreement and sell tickets. To obtain permission to fly on a new destination, carriers must submit the frequency of flights, type of aircraft and the duration of the schedule.

Let us remind that the agreement on cooperation in the field of transport was signed on July 20, 2022, during the visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan and Georgia established diplomatic relations in July 1992.
