Parents of school graduates in Lebap notified of the reduction in the state program to finance higher education abroad

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that parents of graduates from school №4 in Khalach etrap, Lebap velayat have been informed that the state funding for educational programs abroad for Turkmen nationals will be reduced.

Prior to the “Farewell bell” parents met with the deputy khyakim of the etrap overseeing the education system, the head of the etrap education board and the deputy executive of the etrap police department.

The deputy khyakim recommended that those school graduates who intend to continue their education should apply to Turkmen higher and secondary vocational educational establishments.

This year the number of vacancies pursuant to the state educational program will be considerably reduced, primarily because of the global pandemic and the recession in the global economy, – the official said.

When asked whether it would be possible to send a child abroad to pursue educational opportunity at their own expense, the deputy khyakim said: “What are you thinking about?

We have no opportunity to repatriate those who have already graduated from foreign Universities, let alone bringing back home new students. In any case, in order to secure a private travel permit, a relevant document will need to be obtained from the Ministry of Education and the Foreign Ministry”.

In practice for several years the Ministry of Education has been issuing a document acknowledging the authenticity of a high school diploma for those who intend to continue education abroad.

After the meeting with parents the festivities were held. The school administration asked the participants of the event not to wear any masks. The post Parents of school graduates in Lebap notified of the reduction in the state program to finance higher education abroad first appeared on Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
