On 7 May, 2021, on the occasion of the holiday Gadyr gijesi (Laylat al-Qadr) President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov signed decrees to pardon 982 Turkmen nationals and 53 foreign nationals.
Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that this time buses will be organized to transport home those pardoned pursuant to the Presidential decree. Their family members had previously collected them.
For example, from the colony MP-K/16 in Bairamaly two bus columns accompanied by police vehicles headed to Lebap and Akhal velayat.
Pardoned residents of Dashoguz velayat were first transported to Ashgabat and then to Dashoguz.
Former convicts were brought to velayat police departments where they had a 15 minute meeting with the deputy khyakim of the velayat, high-ranking law enforcement officers and officials from the prosecutor’s office and the court.
Former convicts had to repent for the crimes they had committed and thanked President Gurbanguly Berdymukahmmedov for their release. After that the former convicts were released home.
Two days later a district police officer and a representative of the local administration paid visits to those pardoned to inform them that they will soon have to undergo a medical examination in the tuberculosis clinic.
Let us recall that khyakims of the velayats, etraps and cities, as well as other executives have been instructed to provide the pardoned convicts with jobs.In order to address the problem, in the height of agricultural works the local authorities of the Koitengag etrap in Lebap velayat tried to confiscate plots of land from land tenants and to hand them over to those pardoned. The post Pardoned convicts transported homes in buses first appeared on Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
