Pakistan, Turkmenistan Set to Sign Transit Trade Agreement

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov met with the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on April 1, 2024, at the Aiwan-e-Sadr Palace. During the conversation, the President of Pakistan stated that signing a transit trade agreement with Turkmenistan in the near future would be advantageous to further develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan, at the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed sincere congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and on behalf of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

President Asif Ali Zardari, in turn, thanked the leadership of Turkmenistan for the kind words and congratulations and requested to convey the best wishes for peace and prosperity.

President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that signing the transit trade agreement would contribute to expanding trade, developing regional communications, and economic activities.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the agenda of Turkmen-Pakistani relations, including various directions of intergovernmental relations.
