Owasandepe Ahal Velayat industrial centre

Dozens of industries, producing a wide range of import-substituting products from local raw materials, are located in the Owadandepe Gengeshlik in Geoktepe Etrap, Ahal Velayat. Among them are construction industry enterprises and the large natural gas chemical complex under construction. The modern industrial centre is equipped with the logistical infrastructure and engineering services.

The first-born enterprise of the domestic heavy industry - the Türkmendemirönümleri company of the Ministry of Industry was put into operation in 2009.The factory produces building reinforcement of various diameters, as well as a wide range of angles and channels.

It is considered the possibility to launch the industrial production of graphite from petroleum coke there. The first batch of this product has been already manufactured at the experimental unit installed at the enterprise.

The enterprise, supplied with modern equipment, meets the highest world standards and satisfy the international environmental safety requirements. It produces high-demand products that replaced imported analogues from the domestic market.

The marble and granite processing plant of the TurkmenMermer closed joint-stock company of the Ministry of Industry produces facing materials, required for numerous facilities under construction in Turkmenistan.

The technological lines of the plant are equipped with high-performance machines from the Italian company "Barsanti macchine".The production process is based on environmentally friendly technologies and local raw materials.

The largest state-owned construction companies are the customers and buyers.

The plant for the production of gas concrete of the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan was put into operation in 2010.Its products are in great demand in the rapidly developing construction industry.

The plant provides foreign and domestic construction companies, entrepreneurs and the population with competitive gas concrete blocks. The enterprise that operates based on the technologies of the WEHRHAHN German company is equipped with modern equipment.

The production process is fully automated and is based on the use of local environmentally friendly raw materials.Gas concrete blocks produced at the enterprise were used in the construction of the Olympic Village, the new International Airport of the Turkmen capital.

The ministries and departments, research and design centres continue the work on launching new products manufacture from local raw materials in Owadandepe .

The technological innovations includes the production of glass by the float method. This technology was used for the project on construction of an industrial complex, including a quartz sand production factory and a glass factory.

A shop for the preparation of raw materials, a line for the production of container and float glass, its industrial processing, workshops, warehouses, administrative and utility premises arise on 24 hectares.

Two dormitories and two dwelling houses were built for future workers. The plant with a capacity of 7.2 million square meters of glass per year is designed for the production of seven types of products, including transparent and tinted, laminated and tempered glass for the manufacture of insulating glass, as well as a variety of containers, including bottles for medical products.

The glass production will significantly reduce imports in this product segment and successfully export products.

Soon Owadandepe will become the largest centre of the gas chemical industry. The gasoline production plant is under construction in Owadandepe.Supplied with the latest equipment, the enterprise will annually process 1.782 billion cubic meters of natural gas and produce 600,000 tons of Euro-5 gasoline.

It is also planned to produce 12 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 115 thousand tons of liquefied gas per year. This enterprise will be the first one in the world to produce environmentally friendly gasoline based on natural gas processing.

In October 2015, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution, according to which a the Turkmengaz State Concern and the consortium of LG International Corp., Hyundai Engineering Co., Republic of Korea and Itochu Corporation (Japan) concluded the contract on construction of the synthetic liquid fuels production plant through the processing of natural gas.

The project capacity of the new plant is 3.5 billion cubic meters of blue fuel’ and 1.7 million tons of products per year.

To provide industrial enterprises with electricity, the new gas turbine power plant with a total capacity of 504.4 MW was built in Owadandepe. This made Owadandepe one of the largest power production centers in the country. The power plant ensures uninterrupted power supply to the industrial infrastructure of Owadandepe and increases the export potential of the industry.
