OSCE organized a workshop on digitalization of print media in Turkmenistan

Representatives of the Ministry of foreign Affairs, the Turkmen State publishing service, the state news Agency (TDH), and editorial offices of Newspapers and magazines of the country gathered in a webinar organized by the Organization for security and co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Ashgabat.

This workshop was one of the important events for the development of the digital system of national media, organized in the framework of the annual plan implemented jointly with the OSCE.

During the event, international experts Yuri Purgin, General Director of the “Altapress” publishing house, and Vadim Makarenko, an experienced journalist of the Polish newspaper “Vyborcha”, shared their experience of digital media transformation.

As world experience confirms, the more developed a state is, the more significant role information technologies play in its life. In this respect, Russian journalism, which is entering the global media market, has a special role to play.

In accordance with the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is working hard to create new websites and gradually convert print media to electronic format.

In this regard, the participants of the seminar noted that the wide coverage of the Internet space by national media would increase the level of awareness of the international community about modern Turkmenistan, its successes and achievements, the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper reports today.
