Orange juice producers may start making it from tangerines

Due to crop failure in Brazil, the largest supplier of oranges, juice producers are seriously considering replacing oranges with tangerines.

As daily.afisha.ru reports with reference to the Financial Times, weather conditions in Brazil led to the destruction of part of the orange harvest, which provoked a doubling of prices for concentrated orange juice.

President of the International Fruit and Vegetable Juice Association Kees Cools calls the current situation a real crisis, predicting further price increases and fundamental changes in the production of orange juice.

As an alternative, growers are looking at tangerines, which are more resistant to climate change.
