Open championships of the Dashoguz velayat in judo and karate-do will start in the sports schools of Dashoguz on April 21, reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
About 400 sportsmen from sports clubs of Turkmenistan will take part in both competitions. The tournaments will be organized by the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Dashoguz velayat, the National Judo Center of the country and the Karate-Do Federation of Turkmenistan.
Among adult judoists, boys and girls, competitions will be held in 7 weight categories. Cadets among boys and girls have one more category. The tournament will be held according to the rules of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
In karate-do competitions, sets of medals will be played in various age and weight categories, in two versions of karate-do - kumite (fights) and kata (complex exercises) in accordance with the rules of the World Karate Federation (WKF).
Following the results of the competition, the winners and prize-winners of the open championship of the Dashoguz velayat in judo and karate-do will be awarded medals, diplomas and special gifts established by the organizers of the tournament.
