One of Dashoguz etraps closed because of the outbreak of COVID-19

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that effective 3 October, 2021 Akdepe etrap (formerly, Lenin district) in Dashoguz velayat has been closed. At police checkpoints located at the entrance to the etrap two to three police vehicles keep vigil allowing access only to those who reside or work there.

Local residents report a large number of those infected with COVID-19. All medical institutions of the etrap are overcrowded with patients being accommodated in corridors. A shortage of medications and oxygen result in multiple deaths.

In connection with the complicated epidemiological situation the road around the former collective farm named after K. Marx was dug up in mid September and the area around it is now isolated and under a lockdown.

“Chronicles of Turkmenistan” reported a few days ago that the situation in etraps of Akdepe and Kunyaurgench is the most complicated.

In Dashoguz, the capital of the province, employees of the municipal public health authority are currently disinfecting residential neighbourhoods by sprinkling hallways with a disinfecting solution. The areas between multi-storey apartment blocks and pavements are disinfected from special tanks attached to tractors. The post One of Dashoguz etraps closed because of the outbreak of COVID-19 first appeared on Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
