Today, a Joint Turkmen-Iranian cultural event dedicated to the Novruz holiday was held in the village of Yzgant, located in the Geokdepe district of the Akhal region.
The celebration, organized by the Department of Culture of the Akhal region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, was attended by the Iranian Ambassador in Ashgabat Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales, diplomats and employees of the Iranian diplomatic mission, employees of the administrations of the Geokdepe district and the Akhal region, representatives of public organizations, journalists, cultural figures, people’s elders and youth.
The event was opened by an exhibition of carpet products and decorative and applied arts of Iran and Turkmenistan. The exhibition of Iranian paintings and miniatures also attracted a lot of attention.
The celebration continued with a concert of artists of Turkmenistan, Iranian melodies were performed by musical groups.
Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales thanked the organizers of the event and congratulated the people and Government of Turkmenistan on the International Holiday of Novruz.
According to the Iranian diplomat, Novruz, as a national holiday, has been existing for many centuries, has organically fit into the cultural life of many peoples of the world.
“Novruz is a messenger of friendship, kindness, reconciliation, solidarity and happiness, it announces to everyone the arrival of spring and warmth, which gives all of us new life energy,” said the Iranian diplomat.
According to Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales, the holding of the festive event became one of the clearest evidence of the implementation of previously signed documents between Iran and Turkmenistan, including the agreement on cooperation in the field of culture.
