On October 24-25, the President of Kazakhstan will visit Turkmenistan with a state visit

On October 24-25 this year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will pay a state visit to Turkmenistan, “Kazinform” MIA reports with reference to the press secretary of the head of Kazakhstan.

During the visit, the heads of state are expected to hold talks in a narrow and expanded format, where they will consider the prospects for deepening the Kazakh-Turkmen strategic partnership in trade, economic, transit, transport and cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as topical issues on the regional agenda.

Following the visit, a number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a working visit to Turkmenistan in August this year. Then the President of Kazakhstan took part in the third consultative meeting of the heads of states of Central Asia, held at the "Avaza" NTZ.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries were established on October 5, 1992. As of today, the juridical base of bilateral interaction consists of 120 documents.

Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan constructively cooperate in the format of authoritative international and regional organizations and structures, providing each other with mutual support. In particular, the Republic of Kazakhstan co-authored 16 UN General Assembly resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan.

Earlier, we reported that Tokayev was expected in Turkmenistan on a state visit.
