OECD to Hold Export Promotion Seminars in Turkmenistan

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) aims to contribute to improving the legal environment for business, investment and export promotion in Turkmenistan, the Trend news agence reported on Tuesday with reference to the OECD.

"The OECD is planning to hold a series of seminars to discuss investment and export promotion policies and also start the monitoring phase of the ongoing EU-funded project on Improving the Legal Environment for Business in Central Asia,” the organization told Trend, adding that “this includes, in particular, a seminar that is needed to start updating the recommendations formulated two years ago."

The organization stated that in recent years Turkmenistan has been increasingly cooperating with the OECD, paying special attention to competitiveness and private sector development. In the future, the sides intend to carry out joint work aimed at improving the legal environment for business and trade promotion.

Furthermore, the OECD believes that Turkmenistan can be included in future work on the implementation of projects for the development of trade and transport links.

The OECD is an intergovernmental economic organization with 38 member countries, founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade.
