Nonwoven Fabrics to Replace Textiles

Тürkmen Senet Economic Association has opened its store, specializing in spunbond nonwovens. It offers a selection of products made at a sewing shop of the enterprise, which has started the production of a new generation synthetic fabric.

Built in the industrial area in Akbugday etrap as part of the Import Substitution Program, the plant boasts a production capacity of 2,500 tons per year, and a highly efficient and environmentally friendly production process.

It uses fiber-forming polymers, particularly polypropylene produced at the Turkmenbashi Refinery Complex and the Kiyanly Polymer Plant as raw materials for the nonwoven fabric. The polymer-based fabric has a special structure and is an excellent alternative to expensive textiles since it has better properties than those of textiles: high fiber density, high tear strength, bending resistance, wear resistance, and air permeability.

The enterprise has already produced 1,000-plus tons of spunbond in rolls in various widths and colors. It offers a wide selection of products: nonwoven fabrics with varying density, tear strength and practical applications.

The Türkmenstandartlary Main State Service of Turkmenistan has approved Тürkmen Senet’s innovative products and has issued a certificate of compliance. The enterprise manufactures protective covers, shopping bags, bags, tablecloths, aprons, disposable hygiene and care products for women and children.

A printing machine is used for printing different images, designs and patterns. The production shop boasts a fully automated eco-friendly bag making line. The bags will be used for packing products at stores.

Saglyk Enterprise of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan is the main consumer of the products. The enterprise produces disposable non-woven gowns, face masks, shoe covers, and surgical sets.

The new fabric has been exported to Turkey, China, and the Russian Federation. In the short run, the enterprise plans to start the production of melt-blown, a non-woven fabric, which consists of polypropylene filaments with thickness of 0.01 0.2 dtex and has excellent absorption properties.

Melt-blown composites have barrier properties and can retain biologically active fluids, fats and chemicals.
