New mosque opened in Afghan Akina  a gift from Turkmenistan

The opening of a mosque, funded by Turkmenistan, took place in the village of Akina, Andkhoy district of the Afghan province of Faryab.The opening ceremony was attended by a Turkmen delegation led by the country’s chief mufti.

It also included imams of the Mary and Lebap Regions, the Ambassador and Consul of Turkmenistan to the IRA, and media representatives.

For the Afghan part, the ceremony was attended by the Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs of the IRA, mayors of Jowzjan and Faryab provinces, other officials, as well as many ethnic Turkmens living in these regions.

The new mosque is intended for a synchronous service of 500 people. It was built by the Afghan Company Ghazanfar Construction, Road Work Rail Way Construction Material P.CO., to order of the Turkmen Consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif.

This is another gesture of goodwill from Turkmenistan in supporting the Afghan people and the socio-economic recovery in their country.

Such systemic support includes the construction of social facilities, regular humanitarian aid and the implementation of major infrastructure projects that integrate Afghanistan into a network of trade and transport links in the region and the continent.

These projects include the ongoing construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline, power transmission and fiber-optic communication lines along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route, and the Akina-Andkhoy railway.

On the same day, a humanitarian cargo from Turkmenistan arrived in the Afghan provinces of Faryab and Jauzdan.
