New height record: a 2-kilometer skyscraper will be built in Riyadh

The British architectural bureau Foster + Partners has become part of an ambitious project to build a skyscraper in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, that will become the tallest in the world.

According to The Architects' Journal, the height of the building will be 2 000 meters, which is significantly higher than the 828-meter Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai, which currently holds the record. Snob.ru reports this.

The skyscraper will be built near King Khalid International Airport, approximately 35 km from the center of Riyadh.

One of the main challenges of the project will be the fight against strong winds, which can pose a danger to such a high-rise structure. Engineers will have to find solutions to ensure the safety and stability of the building.

It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia is already building the Jeddah Tower in Jeddah, the height of which should exceed 1000 meters.
