Yesterday, a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Turkmenistan (with residence in Astana) Marcel Fortuna Biato was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Having presented copies of his credentials to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov, the ambassador expressed gratitude for the hospitality.
The parties discussed the possibilities of developing political and diplomatic cooperation. The effectiveness of cooperation within the UN was noted. Ways to expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties were considered.
Marcel Fortuna Biato emphasized the importance of the upcoming 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), scheduled to be held in Brazil next year, and invited the delegation of Turkmenistan to participate in it.
