New Armenian Ambassador Starts Working in Turkmenistan

On Monday, Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov received copies of the credentials of the new Armenian Ambassador Arsen Avagyan, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Armenia in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. An exchange of views took place regarding their further development.

The diplomats noted the importance of dialogue at the highest state level, emphasizing that the recent visit of the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan to Turkmenistan to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations the Basis of Peace and Development”, as well as meetings with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov became a powerful impetus for the further development of interstate relations.

In addition, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic ties, and cooperation in the field of transport and energy was examined in detail.

Particular attention was paid to the further development of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, including holding mutual Culture Days, Cinema Days and other events.
