Netflix filmed a documentary series about women in hip-hop

The trailer for a new 4-episode documentary mini-series from Netflix about women in hip-hop has been released, writes Buro.

The series, titled Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop, premieres August 9 on Netflix. According to its creators, they wanted to show the history of the formation and development of hip-hop music through a female prism of perception.

The film tells about the work of such performers as Queen Latifah, MC Sha-Rock, Roxanne Shante, Latto, Ra Digga, Remi Ma, Coi Leray, Yo-Yo, Tierra Wack, Saweetie. Hip-hop stars share their thoughts on the contribution of women to the development of the genre, which turns half a century in 2023.
