Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is in Qatar on a state visit, met in Doha with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, reports the Turkmen State News Agency.
After the official meeting ceremony, the heads of friendly countries hold talks in an expanded format with the participation of delegations.
During the meeting, special attention will be paid to key issues, including strengthening the legal framework for bilateral partnership, developing inter-parliamentary relations and improving interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
Also, during the Turkmen-Qatari high-level talks, it is planned to discuss the issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
After negotiations in an expanded composition of delegations, the meeting will continue in a “one-on-one” format.
Following the talks between the heads of the two states, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents will be held.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on November 22, 1996. In recent years, there have been 5 high-level visits between the two countries.
Last December, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov already visited Qatar on a one-day visit.During the working visit, the head of Turkmenistan held talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, attended the 1/8 final match of the World Cup between the Netherlands and the USA, as well as at the “Khalifa” stadium, where the game was held, had a brief conversation with Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulomaziz Al Thani and President of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino.
