Musa Jalayev won silver at the Open Championship of Uzbekistan in swimming

The 2023 Uzbekistan Open Swimming Championship has started in Tashkent.

265 athletes take part in the competition, reports the official website of the Swimming Federation of Uzbekistan.

On the first day of the competition, April 18, at a distance of 100 meters freestyle, Turkmen swimmer Musa Jalayev became the silver medalist - the time at the finish line was 52.35.

Eldorbek Usmonov from the Andijan region of Uzbekistan (51.48) won gold. Bronze went to Bekmurod Kenzhaev from Tashkent (52.76).

This is the first medal of the national team of Turkmenistan in swimming at the open championship of Uzbekistan.

The men's team of Turkmenistan is represented by Merdan Atayev, Musa Jalayev, David Hakobyan, Arslan Gaipnazarov, Eminguly Ballikov, Abdyrahman Agamuradov, Selim Nazarov. The women's team included Aynura Primova, Ejesh Primova, Enesh Primova, Valeria Mirenskaya and Anastasia Morgenstern.

Turkmen swimmers are trained by Vladimir Novikov and Mark Pilyugin.
