Mr. Lukashenko declared that he would like to buy gas from Turkmenistan, but Russia will not let him pass

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko declared that Minsk would like to buy oil and gas in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, but Russia will not allow their transportation through its territory. This, with reference to the CTV TV channel, is reported by the PRIME Economic Information Agency.

“Of course, much (in the development of the EEU ed.) depends on Russia, we always talk about it.Yes, Russia will have to go to a single energy market, it will lead to the fact that Belarusians will choose whether to buy oil from Russia or Kazakhstan.

Now there is no such thing. We are ready to buy from you (Kazakhstan ed.), but Russia has never passed through (its) territory and still does not pass either gas or oil.

We are ready to buy gas from Turkmenistan, but Russia will not let it pass through its territory, because it wants to sell its own,” said Mr.Lukashenko during a meeting with journalists, fragments of which were shown by the CTV TV channel.

However, according to Mr. Lukashenko, if the EEU members want to develop the union, “we must go to implementation, not make concession, but to the implementation of the agreements that we have signed”.

Mr. Lukashenko said that “excellent decisions” were made within the framework of the EEU, but “the trouble is that we do not implement them.” “None of our decisions… has been fulfilled. Something (has been made ed.) there. This is our problem,” said he.

The Belarusian President sounded a note of warning so that the EEU does not eventually turn into a structure like the CIS.

“We practically don’t make any decisions there. There is just a platform for discussing some issues,” noted the head of state.
