More than 40 filmmakers from Turkmenistan are fighting for the main prize of the Film in 48 Hours competition - trip to the USA

In the countries of Central Asia, the competition of short films "Shoot in 48 hours", organized with the support of the US Mission in Kazakhstan, has been launched.

In total, in 2023, 1 403 applications were submitted to participate in the 48 Hour Film Race, including 41 from Turkmenistan. Topics of the creative task in the current year: the object is a bridge, the character is a clown, the phrase is “And that's not all!”.

Under the terms of the competition, filmmakers must integrate character, objects and phrase into their story, both literally and metaphorically.

The Shoot in 48 Hours competition is held annually in the countries of Central Asia among both beginners and professional filmmakers.

Last year, the team of the Turkmen director Muratgeldi Mollayev won the Best Action nomination with their work Parallel World.
