Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the opening of the statue of the outstanding Indian poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore in Turkmenistan a great honor for his country. This was reported by the Indian Embassy in Ashgabat.
The Tagore monument became part of a large-scale cultural and park complex, inaugurated on May 18 in the Turkmen capital with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.The complex, located in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, includes a 60-meter monument to the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi and a unique Alley of famous poets and thinkers from different countries and eras.
The alley contains monuments to 24 world-famous writers and philosophers, including Goethe, Shakespeare, Dostoevsky, Balzac and Dante. Each sculpture reflects the individuality and creativity of the historical figure represented, symbolizing cultural diversity and international cooperation.
