As reported an Internet portal of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the opening ceremony of the exhibition was held at the CIS headquarters. The event was attended by ambassadors and permanent representatives of the Commonwealth States, employees of the UN, the International Organization for Migration, the leadership and employees of the CIS Executive Committee.
Viktor Guminsky, first Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, congratulated the delegation of the Embassy of Turkmenistan and the entire Turkmen people on the 25th anniversary since the UN General Assembly adopted resolution on Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
Noting Turkmenistan as a reliable partner of the UN in preserving and maintaining political stability in the region and in the world, Mr. Guminsky emphasized the significant role of the Turkmen state in the development of integration processes in the CIS area.
“The neutral status of Turkmenistan is not only firmly rooted in the public consciousness of the people, but also promoted a close acquaintance of the whole world with Turkmenistan, demonstrating its openness to a concerned dialogue with all the states of the world.
Of course, it was possible thanks to the wisdom of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who earned the well-deserved respect and support of the Turkmen people,” said Viktor Guminsky.
Having wished the Turkmen people’s peaceful sky over their head, stability in every respect, and success on the path of creation for the welfare of everyone and the country as a whole, Viktor Guminsky thanked the permanent representative of Turkmenistan in the presence of the functionaries and other bodies of the CIS, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev for organizing the event.
Ms. Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus, also delivered a congratulatory speech. Congratulating on the upcoming December 12, Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan, the UN Representative noted the active and positive role that Turkmenistan plays in the development of peaceful, friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the CIS countries and with other states.
Expressing gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for effective and fruitful cooperation with UN agencies, Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki underlined the initiatives and efforts of Turkmenistan to establish a UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia on its territory.
