Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Qatar have a telephone conversation

On August 10, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

Underlining the high level of bilateral cooperation, the sides expressed mutual interest in intensifying interstate dialogue across the entire spectrum of areas.In this context, the heads of the foreign policy agencies of the two countries underlined the role of the joint Intergovernmental Commission, which work is aimed at implementing the agreements achieved, as well as diversifying economic partnerships, business cooperation, and stimulating investment activities.

During the telephone conversation, the parties exchanged views on the regional and international agenda, including the measures to counter the COVID-19 pandemic.In this aspect, the importance of the initiatives put forward by the President of Turkmenistan was emphasized, in particular, the creation of an international Council of medical scientists and the promotion of scientific diplomacy tools.

In conclusion, the heads of the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Qatar expressed mutual interest in continuing political consultations.
