Vice-Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif.During the conversation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran exchanged views on priority issues of bilateral cooperation and discussed the aspects of joint work to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
As noted, in the very near future, the both countries will take all necessary measures to ensure the high level of sanitary, phytosanitary control and veterinary supervision in order to ensure the safety of goods and cargo transportation across the Turkmen-Iranian border from an epidemiological point of view.

During the conversation, the parties expressed mutual interest in regular contacts between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries.The importance of joint efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic was also noted and some issues of regional and international agenda of mutual interest were considered.
