Lionel Messi scored the goal in the 78th minute. The Argentine, who plays for the American club “Inter Miami”, has scored in 11 of his last 12 matches.

In the next round of the qualifying tournament, the Argentines will play away against the Bolivian national team on September 12, and the Ecuadorians will host the Uruguay team on the same day.
