The rally-raid championship, organized by the Automobile Sports Federation and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, was held in Turkmenistan. Teams from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” Agency, and the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan took part in the competition.
The 161 km route ran through the Karakum Desert, covering the territories of the Ahal and Balkan velayats. On the first day, the participants covered 138 km, and on the second 23 km. Winners were determined in two classes: T2 (SUVs) and open class.
In the SUV class, Merdan Toylyev from the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” Agency won in a Nissan Patrol. Maksatmyrat Danatarov and Meylis Abdyllayev from the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan took second and third places. In the open class, Charyyar Charyev in a Toyota Hilux finished first, while Serdar Kulalyev and Yolaman Abayev took second and third places, respectively.
Earlier, we reported that the Turkmen crew consisting of brothers Merdan and Shohrat Toylyev, competing in a Nissan Patrol of the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” agency, became the bronze medalist of the Russian stage of the international Silk Way Rally 2024.
