Today in Ashgabat, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the President of the UNESCO General Conference Ms. Simona-Mirela Miculescu.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the parties noted the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO. The importance of cultural and humanitarian events held in Turkmenistan was emphasized, in particular the high-level holding of the International Forum "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development" in Ashgabat the day before.
In addition, the importance of including the national nomination "The Art of Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding and Horse Decoration Traditions" in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity was noted.
The parties also considered the potential for expanding cooperation in the field of archiving, digitalization, education and science.
