On October 22, 2020, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan Mr.
Katsumata Takahiko whose diplomatic mission in the country has completed, informs the web-site of the MFA of Turkmenistan.The diplomats highly appraised the Turkmen-Japanese partnership and underlined its rich content.
The expansion of the political-diplomatic contacts on the highest levels was emphasized.In this regard, the significance of the visits of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan was especially noted which has become a turning point in further strengthening of bilateral collaboration on a wide spectrum posing mutual interest.
The positive experience of mutual support of the initiatives and efforts of Turkmenistan and Japan in the framework of regional and international organizations, primarily the UN was highlighted.In this regard, the parties once again reiterated the closeness of standpoints of two countries on a number of vital issues pertaining to global agenda.
During the constructive talks, the issues of further development of relations in trade-economic, fuel and energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed, including the enrichment of inter-parliamentary ties within the inter-parliamentary groups of friendship which has become an integral part of the political dialogue between the two states.
The parties underlined the special importance of efficient and fruitful work done by state and private entities of two countries which contributes to the strengthening of economic and political collaboration between the countries, as well as promotes further involvement of investment of the Japanese side on the Turkmen market.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the contribution in the development of bilateral Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.In this context, it was especially noted that in recent years the relations between the two friendly states have strengthened and the collaboration in the area of petrochemical industry, design and construction of large industrial facilities in line with modern standards has widened.
In the end of the meeting, Ambassador Katsumata Takahiko thanked the leadership of the country and the MFA for multifaceted support and assistance for efficient implementation of his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.
