Magtymguly Pyragy's Poems in Georgian Presented in Turkmenistan

On September 30, 2024, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a presentation of Magtymguly Pyragy’s poetry collection, translated into Georgian.

According to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry, the ceremony was attended by representatives from the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic corps, international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, literary scholars, scientists, journalists, professors, and students of the institute, as well as members of the media.

Speakers emphasized that Magtymguly's works are not only a national treasure but also a part of the world’s cultural heritage. His poems, which convey values of humanism, peace, friendship, and love for one’s homeland, resonate with readers across different cultures.

The Georgian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Konstantin Sabiashvili, highlighted that the new translation strengthens the cultural dialogue between Georgia and Turkmenistan. The event also featured video messages from Georgian writers and scholars, who noted the importance of this project as a symbol of friendship and cooperation.

In conclusion, participants expressed hope that the Georgian-speaking audience would gain a deeper appreciation of the legacy of the great poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy through this translation.

On September 12, 2024, in Tbilisi, as part of the 300th anniversary celebration of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a presentation of his poetry collection in Georgian.
