Madonna attracts 1,6 million people to a free concert in Rio de Janeiro

1,6 million people attended Madonna's free concert in Rio de Janeiro, daily.afisha.ru reports with reference to Reuters. It marked the grand finale of her Celebration World Tour.

A huge crowd filled the sandy Copacabana beach, oblivious to the scorching sun. Many fans waited for hours, even days, to get the best seats, while wealthier fans watched the show from yachts and apartment windows overlooking the ocean.

In the sultry heat, when the temperature exceeded 30 degrees, firefighters refreshed the public with water, and drinking water was distributed free of charge. Fortunately, the temperature dropped a little during the night, dropping to 27 degrees.

More than 3000 police officers provided security for the event. It is worth noting that earlier attendance records in this place were set by The Rolling Stones (1,2 million) and Rod Stewart (4 million).
