“Liverpool” won the FA Super Cup by beating “Manchester City” (3:1).
The winners included Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah (from the penalty spot) and Gabriel Nunez. Citizens goal scored by Julián Alvarez.
“Liverpool” have won the FA Super Cup for the first time since 2006. In total, the club now has 16 victories in matches for the Super Bowl.
The meeting took place at the “King Power” Stadium in Leicester. For the first time since 2012, an FA Super Cup match has been played outside of “Wembley” Stadium (in connection with the hosting of the Women's Euro 2022 final there.
The FA Super Cup is an annual football match between the champions of the Premier League and the winners of the FA Cup. At the end of last season, the gold of the championship of England was won by Manchester City, Liverpool - the Cup.
