Lenovo presented a prototype laptop with a transparent screen

At MWC 2024, Lenovo presented a prototype ThinkBook laptop with a translucent screen. This device continues the trend set by LG with its transparent OLED TVs. Mail.ru reports this.

The ThinkBook's main feature is its 17,3-inch MicroLED display, which is completely transparent when displayed in black.

Instead of a keyboard, a second transparent touchpad is used. This solution may be useful for displaying information, but it is unlikely to appeal to those who like fast and comfortable printing.

The practical benefits of transparent screens are not yet obvious to ordinary users. Lenovo positions the ThinkBook as a tool for artists who don't need to take their eyes off nature, and the touchpad can be used as a graphics tablet.

The new product also has its drawbacks: 720p screen resolution, low contrast, and “transparency in both directions”, which can confuse users.
