As is known, the Temperature Measuring Laboratory of the State reference stock centre of the Turkmenstandartlary Main State Service was accredited and got the certificate that is valid till the end of December, 2022.
The experts of the Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS) highly evaluated the work of metrologists, confirming the laboratory’s compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025 international standard. For the first time, the accuracy in temperature parameter measurement taken place in the centre has been acknowledged at the international level.
The large-scale work has been done to achieve the international accreditation. For several years, the experts from the Vilnius Metrology Institute and the Metrology Institute of Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology(GeoSTM)) jointly with the experts of the project "Support to the Alignment of Technical Regulations and Enhancement of the Quality Infrastructure in Turkmenistan" implemented by the British Standards Institution (BSI), have trained managers and specialists, performing calibrations in the field of thermometry, and awarded them with relevant certificates.
With the support of the Vilnius Metrology Institute, Turkmen specialists calibrated the standard equipment and measuring instruments, as well as interlaboratory three-way comparisons in the range: -40° C to +30° C.
The tests were a success, which allowed submitting the application and the set of documents to SNAS for the international accreditation.
There are 26 laboratories in the structure of the State Reference Stock Centre, the work of which is aimed at examining products, performed work and rendered services for the compliance with the world quality standards.
The national reference database contains a complex of standards, equipment and high-precision tools for 17 types of measurements applied in various sectors of the national economy of the country.
At present, the laboratories on the calibration of mass, force, volume and pressure are preparing for the international accreditation.
