Korean construction company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (Daewoo E&C) has announced its plans to open a branch in Turkmenistan in the coming months, reports “Business Turkmenistan” with reference to BusinessKorea magazine.
According to Daewoo E&C President Baek Chung-wan, the company is already working on the implementation of several projects in Turkmenistan, including the construction of plants for the production of phosphorus and urea fertilizers. He also expressed hope for participation in other promising projects in the field of energy, transport and infrastructure.
On July 17, Daewoo E&C received a delegation from Turkmenistan at its headquarters in Seoul, headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baymyrat Annamammedov. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation and exchanged views on current and future projects.
Daewoo E&C is one of the largest construction companies in Korea founded in 1973. The company specializes in the construction of thermal, nuclear and tidal power plants, LNG terminals, residential and commercial buildings, roads and bridges. The company operates in more than 30 countries and has branches in 13 countries.
