Kazakhstan together with Turkmenistan will build an elevator for export of grain to Afghanistan

An elevator for storing 100 thousand tons of wheat and a workshop for the manufacture of appropriate bags will be built by Kazakhstan, in partnership with Turkmenistan on the territory of “Chemenabat” livestock farm in Serhetabat etrap of Mary velayat.

This was announced today by the Vice-Premier of Turkmenistan Annageldi Yazmyradov, who oversees the agricultural sector, during a working video broadcast.

As per his words, this work which will allow to set cooperation on the shipment of wheat and flour from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan and then to other countries through it, is supposed to be executed with shared participation, the information program “Watan” of Turkmen television reported.

Underlying that this will contribute to the development of relations between the countries of the region, including restoration of Afghanistan economy, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered a detailed study of the submitted proposal.

The agreements on the construction of a grain terminal on the Turkmen-Afghan border were reached during a state visit to Turkmenistan in October last year.
